Amazing Modern Black Faucets and Hardware You'll Love
Black faucets and black hardware - a match made in heaven!
I can’t contain myself… I am so excited to be building my own home.
There are so many things I love and I have been pinning on Pinterest like a wild woman to store up all of my inspiration.
If you know me, you know I love contrast. For my new home I am planning to play up that love by incorporating lots of dark colors, including black, to accent the design of the space.
In my planning I have without a doubt spent the most amount of time thinking and planning my kitchen. I am really excited to incorporate black because it is not something my clients often choose.
With all this swirling around in my mind, I had to share my inspiration and talk about some of my favorite modern black faucets and hardware! Since black isn’t necessarily used as often, knowing how to tie things together can sometimes be tricky.

As have mentioned before, my preference is to have the finish of my faucet and hardware to match. Sometimes I even include the appliance finish in the match too, if it makes sense with the overall design. If you’re planning a kitchen remodel and considering black stainless steel appliances, updating your stainless or chrome faucet with a matte black faucet and swapping out brushed nickel or chrome cabinet hardware for matte black hardware can be an awesome way to tie the space together.
In a bathroom, switching out an nickel or chrome faucet and shower head for a matte black version will bring a modern feeling to the space. Trust us, it is one of the easiest ways to update a bathroom!
If you aren’t ready to commit to the faucet in a kitchen or bathroom, consider using a black faucet to up the drama on a wet bar. The beauty of a wet bar in a separate area of the home from the kitchen, is that it can have a style all its own!
Black Kitchen Faucets
If you’re looking to update your kitchen with a black kitchen faucet, you’re in luck! Many different brands such as Kohler, Delta, Moen, Kraus, and more have Matte Black finish options for their kitchen faucets.
These modern faucets have pull down or pull out sprayers to make cleaning up a little easier. If you’re looking for even fancier features, check out Delta’s Essa Faucet in matte black with the ability to turn water on and off with just a tap!
Black Pot Fillers
Are you asking yourself, “What about the sink? Do I want a black kitchen sink too?”
As with any custom design, that is completely up to you!
As long as we are on the topic, I might as well put in my two cents. For my own personal home or projects, I would say it is not necessary to match the sink and faucet finish if you select an undermount sink.
If it is a farmhouse/apron front, a drop in or a dual mount sink, really any style that will be visible on the countertop then I might consider selecting a sink with a matching black finish. If you decide to go that route, there are quite a few options!
Black Bathroom Faucets
We are big proponents of bathroom updates for the value it can add to your home along with the fact that it is an area of the home that gets a lot of use and a refresh can make using it more enjoyable!
Black Bathroom Vanity Faucets -
When selecting a bathroom faucet for a vanity with predrilled holes, it is important to pay attention to how many holes and the spacing of those holes to ensure you get the correct faucet to fit into the top. Here are the most common types of bathroom faucet:
Single Hole Bathroom Faucet - Single hole faucets require one hole drilled into the countertop, usually centered on the sink. There is a single handle that is toggled up and down or side to side to adjust the temperature of the water.
4 Inch Centerset Bathroom Faucet - These faucets need 3 holes drilled closely together in the countertop. The faucets have two separate handles on either side of the spout, one for hot and one for cold, spaced 4 inches apart.
8 Inch Widespread Bathroom Faucet - This style of faucet also has 3 holes drilled into the countertop but with a widespread faucet, the spacing of those holes allows the handles for hot and cold to be spaced 8 inches apart.
Vessel Sink Bathroom Faucet - This style of faucet is typically a single hole in the countertop, but what makes this style of faucet different is that it is taller to allow the spout to reach over the lip of a vessel sink mounted on top of a countertop.
Wall Mount Bathroom Faucet - A wall mount faucet wont have holes drilled into the countertop at all, as the plumbing will be in the wall allowing for a faucet to be mounted coming straight out and over the sink.

Matching Matte Black Faucets and Matte Black Cabinet Pulls and Knobs
The thought behind selecting matching cabinet hardware when using a black faucet is really to visually balance the space. Using matte black cabinet pulls can be a great way to accent details.
For instance, using black hardware with white or lighter color cabinetry will draw more attention to the hardware as a design feature because of the contrasting color.
Using matching hardware can also help to make sure theres some level of equal distribution of that accent color throughout the room.
If you’re going for an extremely modern space and are using mostly dark colors for cabinetry, using a black faucet and black hardware can help to keep the design cohesive and maintain the modern, simple aesthetic.
